JEE Main 2020: Exam Date, Syllabus, Application, Preparation

JEE Main 2020 will be conducted by NTA. It is a test for admissions to the National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). It is also a screening test for the JEE Advanced Exam which is compulsory for the students who aspire to study in the Indian Insitute of Technology (IITs). The exam is conducted twice in a year in December and 2nd in may through online mode. Those who wish to appear for this exam have to first check the eligibility criteria for the IIT exam if you did not fulfill the criteria of the exam the application is rejected. The application form is filled in an online manner for JEE Main 2020. It should be filled before the deadline. The JEE Main 2020 Admit Card is released for those candidates only who filled the application form on time. It is an important document for the students. The exam is conducted in an online mode. The result is declared after the exam.

JEE Main 2020: application form Eligibility Criteria

Candidates willing to appear in JEE Main 2020 must check the eligibility criteria laid down by the national testing agency (NTA). The eligibility criteria for the exam is as follows:

Age criteria:-

Candidates must be more than 17 years and less than 25 years of age as on October 1, 2020.
General candidates must be born on or after October 1, 1995, and SC, ST and PWD categories must be born on or after October 1, 1989.
Qualification Criteria:

Candidates must have cleared or appeared in standard 12th or equivalent examination with at least 5 subjects.
For B.E/B. Tech – Physics, Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology is mandatory.
For B.Arch/B.Planning – Mathematics with at least 50% in aggregate of 5 subjects.

Year of Passing

Candidates must have passed the qualifying exam in 2018, 2019 or will be passing in 2020 are only eligible to appear for JEE Main 2020.
Number of Attempts

Applicants can appear for JEE Main a maximum of 3 times that too in consecutive years. Attempting both sessions in the same year will be counted as one.

Mode of payment

Candidates can pay the application fee online via credit card/ debit card or net banking.
The application fee can also be submitted in cash via e-challan at ICICI, Canara or syndicate bank.
Step 5 – Printout of Acknowledgement Page

The final step of filling the form is downloading filled application form/acknowledgment page. Candidates have to print 4 copies of their acknowledgment page along with the fee receipt. They must keep the acknowledgment page safely for future reference.

Status of JEE Main Application Form 2019

Candidates need to click on the “Application Form Progress” feature on the left corner of the application window. Using this feature, the candidates can check the following:

View Payment Status
The candidates can partly fill and save the form and can complete the form later. It is not compulsory to fill the form in one go.

Candidates must keep the following documents ready before they start with the registration:-

Photograph in JPEG format- 10 KB to 100KB (size), 3.5cm x 4.5cm (dimensions) Signature in JPEG format- 4 KB to 30KB (size), 3.5cm x 1.5cm (dimensions)
Aadhaar card number/ Any Photo ID proof Proof of Date of Birth
Class 10 certificate Class 12 mark sheet
